Showdown of the Gods
Showdown of the Gods focuses
on the three major challenges for global supremacy in a less than stable
world. It exposes the deterioration of world leadership and looks behind
the "democratic process" long corrupted by wealth and power.
Victor Schlatter's
purpose is to awaken God's people to the situation today and propose a plan
of action.
Showdown of the Gods
is a dire warning of Islamic terror before the fact. Ironically it went to
press exactly on September 11, 2001, the very day that the first and
starkest of his predictions came to reality! And beyond 911, it suggests
the ominous unfolding of the prophesied army of 200 million of Revelation
9:16.
Moreover, he exposes
the deterioration of the world leadership of our day. It's about the flood
of lies from the world's media and the flood of filth from an increasingly
rebellious society. It is about a sick humanist mentality from deathly
worldwide Chernobyls to Columbine High School type violence of global
dimensions.
It's about a society
sold on the fantasy of a Global Village; a mentality deadlocked in
competition with quite another Kingdom.
It's the stark
reality that there are more New Age assumptions in most of us-even
Christians- than we would ever like to admit.
The claims presented are
reinforced with an abundance of measurable facts on the ground, and further
fortified by ancient prophecies-cum-reality as foretold by Ezekiel,
Zechariah, Joel, Micha, Amos, Isaiah and of course, Yeshua of Galilee.
Although the primary
spotlight of the book is not necessarily upon Israel, the current events of
that land where history is soon to culminate is never far below the
surface. If the prophets indeed spoke for God, the appearance of Israel's
Messiah-and ours-cannot be too far distant.
The purpose of
SHOWDOWN OF THE GODS is to awaken God's people to the demise we are already
in, how we got there and what to do now-according to the Scriptures. The
book suggests an alternative to a fire already alight for all who would be
jolted from the delusion that-all in all-life could be much worse.
Indeed, if we have a
look around us, it may well go that route!
"Victor
Schlatter has a passionate commitment to biblical truth and justice. Like
the Old Testament prophets, he is not afraid to provoke and to challenge as
he points us to God's sovereign purposes in our troubled world. Wrestle
seriously with his insights and you will learn some new lessons about
Christian obedience!"
Richard J. Mouw,
President and Professor of Christian Philosophy, Fuller Theological
Seminary
Where is the Body?
This is what the Lord
Almighty says: "In those days ten men from all languages and nations
will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, 'Let us go
with you, because we have heard that God is with you' " (Zechariah
8:23 NIV).
The church is
awakening to the glorious heritage she has in Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The Bible explicitly teaches us of the inseparable and intertwining
relationship of the God fearing Jew and believing Gentile in the family of
God.
Where Is the Body?
will open your eyes to the scriptural reality that there always has been
and always will be only one unique family of Abraham. The Church will not
be complete as the undivided Bride of Messiah until all the covenant
promises to the Jewish people are ultimately fulfilled. Only then will all
things close at the end of the ages as the Bible decrees!
Originally a nuclear
chemist Victor Schlatter changed careers when he studied linguistics in the
lat 1950's. He and his wife Elsie went to the Highland of Papua New Guinea
where they translated the New Testament and portions of the Old Testament
into the Angal and Heneng language. They also planted a church that has now
grown to more than 90 congregations with some 8,000 indigenous believers.
Today Victor is the director of South Pacific Island Ministries and is the
South Pacific Island representative of the International Christian Embassy,
Jerusalem. He and his wife Elsie reside in Australia.
